Dashboards
Work stoppage dashboard
A lightweight dashboard presenting data on work stoppages (strikes and lockouts) in Canada by sector, industry, and province. This began as an experiment in responsive dashboard design with the new Quarto dashboards feature. The live charts were created using R and the Datawrapper API – probably the best part is how well they work with Quarto for creating responsive designs that work well and without too much fuss on both wide and mobile screens.

An interactive dashboard presenting data on union density in Canada, including comparisons between public and private sectors across various demographic and economic variables such as education, gender, and industry. This dashboard features dynamically updated charts and tables based on user selection without needing to set up a shiny server.
The dashboard was created using a combination of Quarto for layout and interactivity, Datawrapper for visualizations, and custom R scripts for data preparation, chart creation, and JSON generation.
